NEWS:

Dancing is getting back to normal and we are hoping that there will not be any further disruptions to our dance schedules.

We will continue to monitor Covid developments and all dances will be run with the safety of our dancers as top priority.

NEWSLETTER - June, 2022

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to keep you informed!

We are still wary of the Covid situation and all dances are run in accordance with the current Queensland Health requirements and in keeping with guidelines as laid out by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

There has been some relaxation in relation to distancing while on the dance floor. This means that we can ease up a little on the number of people on the dance floor as well as the need to space chairs. We still adhere to the “Get In, Dance, Get Out” philosophy as well as hand hygiene, especially in relation to partner changing. We are still keeping information on who is attending the dances just in case we need it for contact tracing, hence the need to know exactly who is coming to each and every dance.

Your ongoing support of SSD and DDW dances has allowed us to continue to donate money to help the local community.

In the name of the dancers of Suncoast Social Dancers, we have recently made donations to a total value of $14,000.00, this amount spread over the following organisations:

  • Cittamani

  • Coastal Caring Clowns

  • Smart Pups Assistance Dogs

  • Koala Rescue Queensland

  • Sunshine Linus Inc.

  • Unicef Ukraine Emergency Appeal

So, keep dancing and all of us, including the wider community, will reap the benefits.

Cheers, and Stay Safe.
